Tribes is a character development program where teachers, faculty and students work together to create a “Learning Community.” This program focuses on bringing students of all ages closer together, teaching them to respect one another, value themselves and helps them create a sense of community with those around them. We encourage our students to become active learners, we want them to feel appreciated, respect their differences and have positive expectations of one another. It is made up of four Agreements: Attentive listening, No Put Downs, Mutual Respect and the Right to Pass.
Tribes is implemented through a series of daily activities lead by our teachers in the classroom as well as school functions created solely to establish a sense of belonging and a sense of community among our students, faculty and parents. Our program coordinator also recognizes students and teachers throughout the school year, that have promoted Tribes or have shown great examples of the four agreements.
